Bathroom Cleaning Schedule with Free Printable

Sharing is caring!

A clean bathroom is one of the two most important rooms in the house to keep on top of. The second room is the kitchen. Today I am sharing my bathroom cleaning schedule. I will be sharing some bathroom cleaning hacks, bathroom cleaning schedule recommendations (with free printable), and products I love using.

We all try to have a picture-perfect clean house. I know I do as a homemaker. Sometimes life in gets in the way, chores get delayed, and some things get neglected. I am confessing my faults so you know this post is not from someone perfect.

Who loves cleaning their bathroom? I know I don’t. It can be a gross, icky chore but somebody has to do it. In my home the person who cleans it most of the time is me. My husband will help occasionally but since he works full time and I don’t, I clean it usually without complaint. First, let’s tackle the bathroom cleaning schedule I follow.

Bathroom Cleaning Schedule

These are all recommendations. What is right for one household, may not work for another. A chore may need to be done more or less often depending on how many people and their ages you have in your home. The daily tasks should take just 5-10 minutes.

Daily Bathroom Chores:

  • General Picking up. Pick up laundry and towels from the floor.
  • Quick wipe down of sink, vanity, tub, shower, and toilet.
  • Change toilet paper roll if needed.

Weekly Bathroom Chores:

  • Empty trash.
  • Sweep and mop the floor.
  • Vacuum rugs.
  • Clean mirrors.
  • Clean and disinfect sinks and countertops.
  • Deep clean shower and tub.
  • Clean and disinfect the toilet.
  • Check and restock cleaning supplies.
  • Check and restock toiletries,
  • Flush drains with boiling water (this helps prevent clogs).

Monthly Bathroom Chores:

  • Wash trashcan.
  • Clean and organize drawers and cabinets. Throw away expired medications and makeup. This is the perfect time to clean makeup and hairbrushes as well.

Quarterly Bathroom Chores:

  • Clean grout (if it needed)
  • Wash shower curtain.

Bathroom Cleaning Schedule Printable

I have made a printable for you to customize with your own schedule of things to do. You can print this out, put the schedule in a page protector, and then use a dry erase marker to reuse the sheet to keep track of tasks completed. Click here to download the free printable!

Bathroom Cleaning Hacks

Trash Bag Money Saver. Save money on small bathroom trash bags by reusing plastic grocery bags from the store.

How to Clean Your Shower Curtain Liner. Put it into the washing machine with regular detergent or 1/2 cup baking soda, plus a couple of towels or sheets (these will help rub the curtain clean while also protecting the liner during the wash cycle), then rehang it and allow it to drip dry.

How to Clean Bath Toys without Bleach. Soak bath toys overnight in a bucket filled with 3/4 cup vinegar per gallon of warm water, then rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. I learned this method when I worked at a daycare.

How to Clean Shower Head Mineral Buildup. Tie a plastic bag filled with white vinegar around your shower head and let it sit for a few hours.

Use Lemon to Clean Chrome. Cut a lemon in half and scrub any chrome fixtures to get a spotless and shiny finish.

In the In-between Cleanings Shower Cleaner. Mix equal parts Dawn and white vinegar to make a simple cleaning solution. Put in one of those dish soap dispensing sponges and do a quick scrub down of the shower before you get out in the morning.

Bathroom Cleaning Products I Love

Vinegar.  My favorite bathroom cleaning product is vinegar. It is natural and does not flare up my allergies. It disinfects as well. I usually pick this up at Aldi because it is so cheap there!

Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner. This cleaner works great and even though it contains bleach, it doe snot have a strong bleach smell.

Green Works Bathroom Cleaner. I love it because it is natural and has a pleasant smell. It works great on my tub, sinks, and toilet base.

Let’s chat! Is the bathroom your most dreaded household chore or is there another that you dread more? What is your favorite bathroom cleaning hack? Let me know in the comments!
