My Thoughts
I LOVE THIS BOOK. I have already purchased this book and gave it as a gift to the missionary on our missions trip. I have been working closely with women of all ages for a long time and I have been a woman for all of my life. One of the most talked about things with women is the feeling of not feeling loved. This book did a great job about showing how the Bible is a love letter to us. My favorite quote is from the first chapter. The author is being interviewed by a radio personality. The radio interviewer asks her “So how can you call yourself a Christian and write romance novel?” Below was her response among other things:
“Yes. The relationship starts off well. Actually, very well. And then in the first few chapters everything falls apart. You think they are never going to get back together, but you hope they will, so you keep reading. About three-fourths of the way through the book, he does everything he can to prove his love to her. But still she won’t come back to him. Then in the last chapter, he rides in on a white horse and takes her to be with him forever.”
Then she tells him that the book is the Bible.
This book is labeled for Single Living but I believe that there is a lot in the book that can be applied to all women. The two authors are very open and honest about there lives and relationships. I would highly recommend this book and I plan to have a Bible study using it in the future.
